Safety & Privacy Online


Read the following Wikipedia articles, about internet privacy and the history of the internet



What is it about the initial purpose of the internet and the way it has developed that makes it so difficult to monitor and control the internet?




  • How safe is the internet?
  • What is an internet troll and what action can be taken in response to an internet troll?
  • How concerned should you be about privacy settings on social media sites such as Facebook and twitter?
  • What other safety and privacy issues should we be concerned about when working online?
Have a class discussion based on what you found out in the article and the questions above, then each write a paragraph about your thoughts and concerns around online safety. E-mail me your responses on a Word or Google document.
